All products are produced in-house and on-demand using the latest digital printing technology. (DTG) Direct to Garment Printing*
(DTG) also known as Direct-To-Garment, is a new and sophisticated printing process that prints an image directly onto a garment or fabric utilizing high resolution wide format digital flatbed printers.
Think of a regular inkjet printer which has been highly modified to “accept” garments instead of paper. The ink is printed directly onto fabric and then heat cured creating a permanent bond.
This gives the finished product a great look, a exceptionally soft “hand” (common term in the industry referring to how a garment feels once the image or design has been printed on it), wash after wash durability and offers more flexibility than screen-printing in terms of color variation, no setup fees, no screen fees and no product minimums.
As you may already know image quality printed on low-quality copy paper can’t compare to printing on high-quality photo paper. The substrate “printing surface” dictates the limits of your image quality.
Therefore TransferTown only uses blank garments that are closer to “photo” paper than “copy” paper. We look for thread count and a fine, dense weave that will provide a better print surface, along with a great fit and feel.
Through customer input and numerous testing cycles, we have come to use Hanes almost exclusively as our blank garment of choice.
